Allenne Dy: The Rising Voice of Emotion, Honesty, and Indie Rock

In a world overflowing with fast fame and formulaic music, Allenne Dy is a rare kind of artist — one who doesn’t just sing to be heard, but writes to be understood. The singer-songwriter from Quezon City, Philippines, is carving out a path that’s as genuine as her lyrics, blending soft rock with the unfiltered emotions of youth, heartbreak, and growth.

A Calling, Not a Choice

Music has always been more than a dream for Allenne — it’s a calling. “It wasn’t really triggered or inspired,” she explains. “Ever since I could remember, I had been connected to music.” Growing up with a love for writing — from poems to letters she never sent — it was only natural that her words would one day find their home in melodies. What began as childhood letters evolved into deeply personal lyrics, and what started as a quiet voice soon grew into a sound that resonates with hundreds.

Finding Her Voice, One EP at a Time

Allenne’s musical journey started under the influence of artists like Gracie Abrams, whose gentle, emotional style shaped her debut EP Between The Lines. But with each release, she’s leaned further into her own sonic identity. Her second EP PS. I Love You expanded her sound, and now she’s confidently embracing soft rock — music that carries weight, meaning, and production that lets you feel what she feels.

The Making of “Love”

Her latest single, simply titled “Love,” is a testament to how her creativity works in unexpected ways. Originally written as a tongue-in-cheek “brain rot” song, the track evolved after Allenne was emotionally moved by a love story in the series Chernobyl. Inspired, she rewrote the lyrics entirely — spending hours crafting them with intention and care. “It became a play of words,” she says. “I spent a TON of time writing it because I kept googling words to use.”

From Drums to Diary Pages

Interestingly, Allenne’s first instrument wasn’t a guitar — it was drums. Guitar entered the picture during the pandemic, and songwriting followed closely behind. While her beginnings were humble and full of self-doubt, she found strength through experimentation and self-learning. Today, she records, writes, and produces her music largely on her own, a process that started with notebook poems and evolved into voicenotes, chord progressions, and heartfelt lyrics.

Facing the Fear of Being Seen

Despite her talent, Allenne has long wrestled with the fear of visibility. “For years, I had always NEVER wanted to be seen,” she admits. “But now that I’m pursuing this career, it’s one of the biggest challenges I’m still trying to overcome.” Her breakthrough came when she began posting videos of herself instead of anonymous slideshows. The result? A dramatic rise in engagement — and a growing fanbase that’s falling in love with both her music and her vulnerability.

Rooted in QC, Dreaming Beyond Borders

Though based in Quezon City, Allenne is clear-eyed about the limitations of the local scene. Most performance venues are in Manila, making access difficult. But QC also gives her a core community, friends, and potential listeners who cheer her on — a foundation she uses to build wider connections online.

Her Influences: From Paramore to Phoebe Bridgers

Allenne’s sound is a tapestry of influences. On the rock side: Avril Lavigne, Paramore, MCR, Green Day, and Bon Jovi. On the lyrical side: Taylor Swift, Clairo, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Phoebe Bridgers. “Another artist I wanna just mention is Novo Amor,” she says. “Their music is just soooo IT. They never fail to make me feel.”

The Power of Connection

Beyond the music, Allenne values connection. She actively checks her social media — not to count views, but to read comments and interact. “It gives me a chance to talk to [listeners] and maybe be their friend,” she shares. Her official website, Official Website , acts as a hub for her music, story, and growing discography.

No Fame Without Heart

She’s still early in her career, but Allenne’s mindset is anything but naive. She’s not chasing money. “I just want to be heard,” she says simply. “Money is always the last thing on my mind.” Still, the future she envisions is bold: playing at Coachella, signed to a label, and using her platform to help others. “Even though I might be famous and enjoying my life, I want to give to people who can’t even enjoy theirs.”

What’s Next?

With new singles on the horizon and a third EP in the works, Allenne is balancing creativity with the looming challenge of college. But even that won’t stop her momentum. “I’m planning to finish [the EP] by September,” she says, determined to keep both worlds — school and music — in motion.

The Message to Fellow Dreamers

To other aspiring female musicians, Allenne offers no sugarcoating: “It’s NEVER easy. There is no cheat code.” But she also leaves them with hope: “Eventually, it just unfolds. I always tell myself, ‘It’ll all work out.’ And it will.”

Whether it’s through heartfelt lyrics, emotionally charged productions, or just her unfiltered personality online, Allenne Dy is an artist who reminds us that authenticity will always matter. And if her growing fanbase is any indication, the world is finally starting to listen.
